Bavarienburg Breeding Philosophy:
We are striving to breed healthy working Dobermanns with sound character and temperament. Dobermanns are a working breed. In order to be able to work, a dog has to be healthy and needs to be conformationally correct. But above all, you need to be able to live with your dog. Sound temperament is extremely important to us and should be to you, too. Only dogs with stable temperament will excel in Schutzhund, for instance, where a dog needs to cope with stressful situations and show good nerves. All of our dogs are excellent companions and love people including little children.
All the puppies are properly socialized from the very beginning. They live in the house with us, as all of our dogs do. We start crate and leash training for you, but we do not believe in keeping our dogs in crates or kennels all the time. Since we live on 20+ acres, there is plenty of room to run and play.
Every puppy is properly vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped for permanent identification. The microchip number is registered in our name, so that if anything happens to the dog, we will find out. The tails are docked short (European length, no exceptions!), and the dewclaws are removed at 3 days of age.
IMPORTANT: As of March 2006, we will
NO LONGER crop our puppies' ears as we no longer support this type of
cosmetic surgery. We encourage you to watch ear crop surgery and witness
the pain and discomfort a puppy has to go through during recovery/healing/taping
before you decide to have your puppy's ears cropped.
Dobermanns are the most
beautiful dogs even with natural ears!
We will take back any of our puppies at any time in their lives, no matter the age or situation.
